The field is excavated to a depth of 12 inches (300
mm) below finish grade, laser graded perfectly flat
and wrapped with an impervious polyethylene geomembrane,
creating a contained, water-tight profile.
An intensive grid of low-profile, exclusively manufactured drainage pipes are then laid across the floor of the field, creating a continuous, closed-loop matrix.
After drainage and overhead irrigation systems are installed, the field is filled with specially processed sand that meets exacting specifications for sizing and gradation. Into the sand are set a series of patented water-level gauges, which continuously measure plant-available moisture and feed this data to the control center. The field surface is laser graded perfectly flat and seeded, sodded or sprigged with the appropriate turf species.
