Mission - To be the recognized leader in strengthening the sports turf industry and enhancing members’ competence and acknowledgment of their professionalism.
American Sports Builders Association (ASBA)
ASBA is a national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for tennis courts, running tracks, natural and synthetic turf fields, indoor and outdoor synthetic sports surfaces. It is recognized as a centralized source for technical information, including consumer-oriented information.
ASBA Certified Field Builder
The Certified Field Builder Program was developed by the ASBA to help raise professional standards and to improve the practice of field construction. By passing a comprehensive exam on field construction and maintenance, and by fulfilling prescribed standards of experience, Mark Heinlein, The Motz Group’s Senior Vice President, has demonstrated a high level of expertise in field construction. Mark is proud to be an ASBA Certified Field Builder.
Synthetic Turf Council (STC)
The Synthetic Turf Council was formed to establish industry standards for synthetic turf field installations. STC serves as a neutral unbiased source to encourage, promote, facilitate and communicate a better understanding between all parties of the essential elements required in the selection, delivery and use of synthetic turf systems that will result in greater end user satisfaction.
The Motz Group first joined the STC in September 2004 and stays actively involved to ensure that knowledge of industry innovations, manufacturing techniques, installation procedures, materials testing, and all other facets of synthetic turf fields are always top of mind.
Joe Motz, president of The Motz Group, has always been highly involved with STC.
